Winter 2009/2010

There has been no real snowfall in the Pullman area. The shovel has not been touched. As of today there is NO Pullman snowpile!!!

There has been an ass load of rain though.

I'll give you 4 to 7 inches...

Yeah...the forecast called for 4 to 7 inches. When I snapped this picture we had 8. Ended up with around 9 inches at my house. So many inappropriate comments I can make...but I won't.

There are a lot of these signs on the WSU campus. Massive budget cuts here at WSU have led to this. The state government has asked WSU to cut back on spending and one way they are doing this is to limit the amount of snow removal there will be. I have no solution to the money problem (maybe a state income tax? There is some logic for ya). However, this really makes some of the idiots over at UW who want the state to help finance a new football stadium look foolish. WSU has done a lot of work on their stadium the past few years...all at the expense of donors and student fees (not at the cost of the state's budget). Does an 0-12 football team really need a new football stadium? I digress...

I love this heart on campus. A lot of people hate it. I think it's fantastic. It makes people think and talk about art. I think art should invoke some type of response. This heart does. I believe the artists name is Jim Dine and the piece is "Technicolor Heart".

Driving over to Moscow this morning. The fog rolled in as soon as it stopped snowing. Visibility was less than a quarter mile at times.

My sidewalk. A lot of drifting happened last night.

Remember my grill? I don't. I received some really nice filet mignon steaks for Christmas. Little did I know I'd have to dig my damn grill out to eat them. Scroll down below for what the grill looked like just a few short days ago...
The snow pile. It is bigger than at any point last year. It's huge, and I made it all myself.
The classic snow pile shot.

January 2, 2009 - update

The snow pile grew a lot today. My back is cashed. It was nearly two hours of shoveling. All the snow was wet and slushy. Now the street is an ice rink. I don't skate.

Hell, I don't do much...just complain a lot...about everything...

January 2, 2009 - The winter of my discontent

It started snowing around 12:30 a.m. this morning. Awful, heavy, wet snow. Boo! That's all I can really say. Pullman was hammered *again*. Roads are closed around here. I'd type more but I'm off the trash my back by shoveling another 6+ inches of snow.

Enjoy the pics...It's so "beautiful".

January 1, 2009

Is there hope? Is all this snow going to melt away with the rain that is coming in? I awoke to the new year with about 3 or 4 inches of heavy wet snow. Later in the day it started raining. And raining hard...

The snow pile grew and may have shrunk all in the same day, which is a good thing, right?

The snow is almost all gone from the grill. Maybe I should use it.

It snowed...again...

I actually went out for a ride on my cross bike today. It was 14 degrees when I left. It was "fun".

The view heading back to Pullman while riding my bike.

The only living things I saw on the ride that did not give me a strange look.

The snow pile grows. Boo. It's turning into a replica of last years snow pile

I was thinking of using the grill at some point this winter....not sure if it will happen...

It's been cold and snowy the last few days. Is this winter worse than last years? It's too soon to say, but it will be a good competition. The snow pile has grown.
In some even more sad news...my snow pile is no longer number one on google images. Sort of sad. It's still in the top 10 though. That's pretty good, right?

F**K IT'S SNOWING AGAIN!!!

Yeah...more stupid snow. It's warmed up to a tropical-like 17 degrees. Another deep freeze will follow. On the bright side this winter is still better than last year's (so far).

I saw some dude slip and fall on his ass up on campus. It made me laugh. I need to laugh once in awhile, even it's at someone else's misery. I'm flawed individual. What can I say?

I saw another girl wearing full on make-up. Completely done up...wearing sweat pants and a matching sweat shirt/hoodie thing. She was not coming nor going to the gym. When did it become "fashionable" to wear sweats as regular clothing. It's not 1987 anymore people. Please let's move on. The real reason I bring her up is becuase of her skin. It did not look right at all. I would say it was "tan" (which is strange to see in Pullman, especially this time of year) but it really was not tan. She looked more like this picture.

Seeing her took away more short lived smile from seeing dude fall on his ass. Thanks fake tan chick. I hope you fall on your ass and rip your fancy sweats.
